Requirements: Minimal to apply

  Emergency Medical Technician Basic

  21 years or older

 1 year of street experience / or complete Poe EMS Academy

 PHTLS preferred

 Current Health Care Provider CPR Card 

 Current TB TEST

 Up to Date on all vaccine and shots

Other department training requirements:

Hazmat Operations training if not certified

Complete basic rescue awareness training

Complete annual competency testing of skills bi-annually

Complete annual written protocol test bi-annually     

Complete NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800

Required to complete 2 hours per month of EMS training or 6 hours per quarter. 

Must reside within 10 miles of the station or be whiling to provide stand-by on station of 4 hours per week.
